
Russia: The central government told the Parliament on Friday that there are still 18 Indians in the Russian armed forces, out of which Russia has reported the disappearance of 16. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh gave this information in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha. The government was asked whether it has information about the total number of Indians serving in the Russian army and if it is, what is their details including the date of their identity.
Data on dates for Indian citizens to return to India
The Ministry of External Affairs was also asked whether the government has data on the dates for the return of those Indian citizens to return to India, which have now been relieved. He said, “According to the available information, there were 127 Indian citizens in the Russian armed forces, out of which 97 services were abolished, which resulted in continuous contact between the Indian and the Russian governments on the matter as a result of continuous contact. The government was still asked for details of the number of Indian youth who were trapped in Russia and serving their army and steps have been taken by Mia and Indian Embassy in Russia to withdraw them in Russia.
There are still Indian citizens in Russian armed forces
Singh said, “According to the information available, there are still 18 Indian citizens in the Russian armed forces, out of which 16 have been reported to have been reported by Russia. The government said that about such persons from the concerned Russian officials. Russian officials have been requested to provide an update on Indians in the Russian armed forces and have also spoken to ensure their safety, good and early discharge.
