Actually, Glenn McGrath Foundation collected funds of more than 9 million through Sydney Test. The Glenn McGrath Foundation works for cancer victims around the world. If any team including India plays a Test series in Australia, then one Test is for the fund of Glenn McGrath Foundation.
Glenn McGrath Foundation was established in the year 2005
It was founded in 2005 by former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath and his wife Jane McGrath. This foundation was started after Jane McGrath was diagnosed with breast cancer. The aim of the foundation is to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia and raise awareness of breast cancer among young women. Thus far, McGrath Foundation has appointed 233 McGrath Breast Care Nurses. Most of these nurses are in rural and regional areas. People suffering from breast cancer can get free help from these nurses.
Let us tell you that awareness about breast cancer is increased through the educational programs of the McGrath Foundation. The Australian team plays the first Test match every year in memory of Jane McGrath. All the money earned from this match goes to the foundation. It is noteworthy that the Sydney Test between India and Australia was played from January 3. The result of the match came on the third day itself. A large number of spectators had come to watch this test. This resulted in strong earnings for Sydney Cricket Ground. It is being told that more than 9 million dollars (Rs 47,89,09,710 in Indian currency) has been earned from Pink Test. However, this fund did not come to the stadium.
