US President Donald Trump has now offered Ukraine’s power and nuclear power plants to the US. He claims that this will give Ukraine ‘better protection’ from Russian attacks. Along with this, Ukraine will benefit from America’s energy technology.
Ukraine has a total of 15 reactors in four major nuclear power plants, the largest of which is under Russian control since 2022. Ukraine’s power generation capacity is one-third of the power generation capacity of 2022 due to Russia’s attacks.
Trump has earlier asked to hand over the rare minerals found in Ukraine to the US. Meanwhile, Ukraine and US officials are scheduled to meet on Sunday on the issue of Ukraine War. The meeting is proposed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
