Chaitra Navratri starts from March 30. Navratri is one of the holiest festival for Hindus. At the same time, the festival of Eid is very special for the Muslim community. Eid will also be celebrated in India on 31 March or 1 April. Meanwhile, mutton politics has started on the occasion of Navratri and Eid in the national capital. Some BJP MLAs have demanded closure of meat shops during Navratri. It has also said that people of the Muslim community should eat sevaiyan, not mutton on Eid.
Some BJP MLAs in Delhi have demanded that meat shops should be banned in the capital for 9 days of Navratri. In this regard, BJP MLAs have written a letter to DM and DC to close the shop in their areas nine days of Navratri. BJP MLA Neeraj Basoya as well as BJP MLA Ravinder Singh Negi from Patparganj assembly constituency has also said that meat shops should be closed in Navratri.
Meat shops closed on Navratri-Ravinder Singh Negi
BJP MLA Ravinder Singh Negi said, “I went to the temple on Tuesday and saw that the meat shop was open right in front of the temple.” Seeing this, I felt very bad, so I requested the traders to close meat shops outside the temples on Tuesday. He gladly accepted and now shops in Patparganj are starting to close on Tuesday. We want meat shops to be closed in front of temples during Navratri. I will write a letter to DM about this.
Do not eat goats in sweet Eid- Karnail Singh
BJP MLA Karnail Singh has also made the same demand from the administration. He said, I request my administration to close meat shops in Navratri. He also said that sweet is Eid, not Bakrid. We respect their religion, eat sevaiyan in sweet Eid and keep goat shops closed. Along with Ravinder Singh Negi and Karnail Singh, Neeraj Basoya has also appealed to close the meat shops during Navratri. He has said that we will write letters that meat shops should be closed in residential areas during Navratri.
