Delhi new ev policy: A new policy is going to be implemented in Delhi soon, under which CNG auto and petrol two-wheelers may be banned. In fact, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta can announce the EV 2.0 policy on Tuesday (April 15). Many big changes can also be seen in it. According to sources, the sale of petrol and CNG-run two-wheeler may stop in Delhi since August 15, 2026 under the policy. Apart from this, new registration of petrol, diesel and CNG-run three-wheelers will be stopped in Delhi from 15 August 2025 and it will be necessary to convert CNG auto older than 10 years into electric.
According to sources in the announcement of the EV 2.0 policy, if a man’s name is 2 petrol or diesel car after the implementation of the new EV 2.0 policy on April 15, then the third car will be registered. Apart from this, under the new EV 2.0 policy of Delhi Government, all vehicles of Delhi, NDMC and Jal Board will have to be fully electrically electricly.
Number of EV charging stations and battery swapping centers will increase
Under the EV 2.0 policy, the number of EV charging stations and battery swapping centers in Delhi will be increased, so that the facility of charging can be easier. Currently, Delhi has a total of 1,919 electric charging stations and 2,452 charging points and 232 battery swapping centers. The policy proposes to install 13,200 public charging points in the capital, so that a charging station is available every 5 km radius.
Electric vehicles will get subsidy
Apart from this, after the new policy is implemented in Delhi, 10,000 women will get a subsidy of up to Rs 36 thousand on purchasing electric two-wheelers and at the rate of 12,000 per kWh, as well as the rest of Delhiites can get a subsidy of Rs 30,000 per kilowatt at the rate of Rs 10,000 per kg of Rs. If you can give a subsidy of up to 36,000 on purchasing two-wheeler electric vehicles, then after 2030, the government can give a subsidy of Rs 30,000 to other women after 2030.
EV 2.0 policy will remain in force till 31 March 2030
Under the policy, if a man scraps his petrol or diesel two-wheeler less than 12 years old, then the government will give him an extra Rs 10,000 in EV procurement. It has also been decided in the policy that by 2027, 95 percent of the new vehicles registered in Delhi should be electric. With this, a target has been set to reach 98 percent by the year 2030. The EV 2.0 policy will remain in force in Delhi till 31 March 2030.
