Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion: The cabinet is going to be expanded in Maharashtra. The new ministers of Maharashtra will be sworn in at Raj Bhavan in Nagpur at 4 pm. At present, a list of some possible names to be included in the cabinet has come out. The names of BJP’s Girish Mahajan, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Shirsat and NCP’s Chhagan Bhujbal are also included in this list.
At present, 30 to 32 ministers can be included in the cabinet of Maharashtra government led by Devendra Fadnavis. Sources reveal that out of 40 ministerial posts, 30-32 ministers will take oath on Sunday. About 10 posts will remain vacant, which will be filled later. On 5 December, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as Chief Minister, with Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers.
From BJP quota: Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Girish Mahajan, Chandrakant Patil, Jai Kumar Rawal, Pankaja Munde, Pankaj Bhoyar, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Shivendra Raje Bhosle and Meghna Bordikar can be included in the cabinet.
Shinde from Shiv Sena quota: Sanjay Shirsat, Uday Samant, Shambhuraje Desai, Gulabrao Patil, Bharat Gogwale, Sanjay Rathore, Ashish Jaiswal, Pratap Sarnaik, Yogesh Kadam and Prakash Abitkar are considered certain to become ministers.
From NCP Ajit Pawar quota: Chhagan Bhujbal, Aditi Tatkare, Narhari Jhirwal, Babasaheb Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Dutta Bharne and Anil Patil may join the cabinet.
Sources reveal that the cabinet expansion of the Mahayuti government will take place on Sunday, but the allocation of departments will be done later. According to sources, under the cabinet expansion in Maharashtra, BJP may hand over the Housing Ministry to Shiv Sena. However, BJP can keep its control on the Home Ministry. Since Shinde now works as one of the two deputies to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP is expected to give him another important ministry. Pawar is expected to retain his post as finance minister.
