7.5 crore Ferrari seized, owner filled 1.41 crores on tax evasion! RTO’s action caused a stir

Bengaluru rto ferrari case: In Bengaluru, a 7.5 crore Lal Ferrari SF90 Stradale has been confiscated by RTO officials on charges of tax evasion. Its owner did not pay road tax in Karnataka. This car was registered in Maharashtra, where tax on luxury vehicles is low. This car was often seen in Bengaluru, but the owner did not register it in Karnataka.

Road tax on expensive vehicles in Karnataka is very high. But the owner of this car neither registered it in Bangalore nor filled the road tax here. After receiving the information, Bangalore South RTO started the investigation and after checking the documents, seized the car.

RTO sent notice to the owner

The notice was sent to the owner, which said that if the tax is not paid by Thursday evening, legal action will be taken. After this, the owner immediately paid a tax and fine of Rs 1.42 crore.

One of the big tax recovery
It is considered to be one of the major tax recovery of Karnataka Transport Department. This case is part of a major investigation in Karnataka, in which RTO is adopting a strict attitude on tax evasion of luxury vehicles. In February too, the department seized 30 expensive cars, including trains like Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Range Rover.
