According to the report of Pakistani newspaper Dawn, the Pakistani Air Force carried out this attack in the Eastern Paktika province of Afghanistan. However, it did not formally say how many people were killed in this attack. Pakistani sources said that TTP camps were targeted in Murgha and Laman areas in Bernal district of Paktika province. It was claimed that these bases were being used by TTP Commander Sher Zaman, Commander Abu Hamza, Commander Akhtar Muhammad and TTP’s media organization Omar Media.

After the air strike by Pakistani Air Force, the Defense Ministry of Afghanistan has given a sharp reaction to Pakistan. Afghan Defense Minister Mullah Yacob, son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, said that a befitting reply will definitely be given to this attack. The ministry said that children and women have lost their lives in the Pakistani attack.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan carried out this attack precisely when it sent its envoy to the Taliban on Tuesday (24 December) and held talks with Taliban Home Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani.
