Punjab’s 38 -year -old Divyang cricketer Vikram Singh allegedly died on his way from Delhi to Gwalior for a wheelchair cricket tournament. Singh’s health suddenly deteriorated during the journey. Many emergency calls were made to help him but medical aid could not reach on time.
Repeated efforts were being made to help but no help reached. He died before the train reached Mathura station.
Sitting in the train on Wednesday night
Singh and his companions boarded Chhattisgarh Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin station on Wednesday night. Shortly after the train left, he started having severe pain and as the train reached Mathura, their condition deteriorated rapidly.
No help was found on time
TOI quoted the report as saying that an emergency call was made on the railway helpline at 4:58 am, demanding immediate medical help. Despite calling several times, there was no help.
The train was running late 90 minutes and finally reached Mathura station at 8:10 am. By then Singh had died. One of his unhappy companions said, “He was groaning in front of our eyes. We kept calling for help, but no one came.”
