Delhi assembly elections, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will face defeat in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections due to its “misdeeds”. Elections are to be held in February this year. AAP has announced candidates for all 70 seats while Congress has declared the names of 48 candidates so far.
Dikshit, in an interview with ‘PTI-Bhasha’, said that she needed to underline how much work Sheila Dikshit had done in Delhi during her tenure as chief minister. Congress has fielded Sandeep Dixit from New Delhi constituency for the upcoming assembly elections.
We never declare Chief Minister candidate – Sandeep Dixit
When asked about Congress not having a chief ministerial face, Dikshit said, “We never declare a chief ministerial candidate. Even when Sheila Dikshit became the chief minister for the first time, it was clear that if Congress won she would become the chief minister, but we had never announced her name for the post of chief minister.”
He said that it has not been the tradition of Congress to do so. He said that many times it happens that when there is a big leader, people assume that he will become the Chief Minister, but it is not the tradition of Congress to declare the face of the post of Chief Minister. Regarding assessment of the election results, Dikshit said that Congress will perform better and Aam Aadmi Party will lose due to its “misdeeds”.
When asked whether Congress will support AAP again if it gets only a few seats (like five or ten) and AAP does not get majority, Dikshit said, “You should ask this question.” ‘AAP’ should be asked because they will get seven or eight seats, not us.
My candidature increased the party’s credibility – Sandeep Dixit
He also informed that the party has fielded him from New Delhi constituency. He said, “I was elected MP from East Delhi seat. The party told me that it wants to field a candidate against Kejriwal who will increase the party’s credibility and credibility.
Dikshit said, “The party told me that you are the most suitable candidate for this seat because you are the son of Sheila Dikshit. She (Sheila Dikshit) represented this seat in the Assembly and people are remembering the work done during her tenure.
He said that he has been criticizing the AAP government for the last 10 years. He claimed that Aam Aadmi Party does not deliver even 10 percent of what it claims.
Dikshit said, “I have worked a lot in the constituency and know the party workers here. Therefore the party thought that I was a suitable candidate for this seat. It doesn’t matter whether the opponent is easy or not. I feel that Kejriwal has acted as an incompetent MLA for the last 10 years.

He alleged that Kejriwal does not go to his constituency and does not even meet anyone. He claimed, “Go to any colony, people will tell you that 80 percent of the work was done during Sheila Dikshit’s tenure.”
Dixit claimed, “An MLA who does not work and does not go among the public cannot be a strong candidate.”
He said that the Aam Aadmi Party government could not do anything special or different. He did not do anything in the fields of health and education that could be considered noteworthy or special.
He said that the Congress government had opened 150 new schools and the AAP government had opened only 20 new schools so far.
Dixit said, “The Aam Aadmi Party government says that they have opened 300 to 400 mohalla clinics. But they do not have any operating facilities, those clinics do not have emergency medical facilities and many tests are not even conducted there.
He said, “During the tenure of Sheila Dikshit, there were 560 dispensaries in Delhi. They (AAP government) have reduced it to 250 or 300. He closed about 250 to 300 dispensaries and opened 300 mohalla clinics, then what new work did he do?
Not a single new hospital was built during Kejriwal’s rule – Sandeep Dixit
He claimed that 18 new hospitals were built during Sheila Dikshit’s tenure and not a single new hospital was built during her (AAP) rule.
When asked how he would reach out to first-time voters or young voters, Sandeep Dikshit said, “We have been emphasizing again and again that it is important to show how much work has been done during Sheila Dikshit’s time.” Happened. I have met many youth who are worried about their future and are saying that they should get a Delhi in which they can live.
He said, “So we have to tell them what Delhi was, what work Sheila Dikshit did and where he (Kejriwal) has taken it at present.” This will be part of our election campaign.
