Actor Abhishek Banerjee recently opened up about his experience working with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Section 84Reflecting on his time alongside Big B, Banerjee shared that the experience was both challenging and immensely rewarding.
Describing his initial moments on set, Abhishek revealed the nerves he felt and his efforts to avoid any blunders in front of Bachchan. In an interview with India Today, the actor confessed that he was pretty nervous as he did not want to fumble in front of the senior actor, and it felt like standing in front of a professor rather than acting with a legendary actor. He jokingly stated that he had managed to fool many as an actor, but with Bachchan, it is impossible as he reads everything. He ensured that theSholay‘ The actor never felt bad about his acting skills on set: “I was terrified he might go to the director, Ribhu Dasgupta, and ask, ‘Why did you cast this boy?’” he revealed.

Banerjee also fondly recalled a memorable moment during filming, where bachchan showed his admiration for the young actor’s performance. He shared how Big B developed a fondness for him over time while filming ‘Section 84’. He recalled a particularly memorable moment when Bachchan clapped for him after a shot. The gesture left a lasting impression on Banerjee. He described turning around after finishing a monologue to find Bachchan appraising him and added that he would forever cherish that scene.

The ‘Stree 2’ actor further recalled a profoundly emotional scene he filmed with Amitabh, which left him speechless. During rehearsals, Bachchan told him, “Abhi, I’m going to look at you now, okay,” a line that stayed with Banerjee. When the director called “action,” and Bachchan’s gaze locked with his, Banerjee was overwhelmed. He momentarily forgot his character as memories of Bachchan’s iconic roles flooded his mind, leaving him awestruck by the experience. “The moment the director called ‘action’ and he looked into my eyes, I went completely blank,” he shared. He reflected on the most difficult aspect, which was maintaining focus and avoiding any missteps on such a momentous set.
