
Afghanistan’s youth of spinner AM Gajamfer has been eliminated from both ICC Champions Trophy and IPL due to fracture at the bottom of the waist. The Afghanistan Cricket Board made this announcement on Wednesday. Left -handed spinner Nangalia Kharote has been included in the team for the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan and UAE since 19 February.
Twenty -year -old Kharot is a left -handed spinner and has played seven ODIs and six T20 matches since his debut last year. Gajamfar was hurt on the Zimbabwe tour of Afghanistan last year and would be out at least four months.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board wrote on X, “AM Gajamfer has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to injury. They have fractured at the bottom of the waist. He was hurt on the Zimbabwe tour and would stay out at least four months. ‘
The IPL is to be held from March 21 to May 25, in which Gajamfer was to play for Mumbai Indians. ACB also stated that off -spinner Mujibur Rahman would be out of the ODI team until he was completely fit, although he played for Parl Royals in SA 20. Afghanistan is to play the first match in the Champions Trophy from South Africa in Karachi on 21 February.
