Akash Deep Injury Ahead Sydney Test: India vs Australia five-match Test series is currently tied at 1-1. The fifth match is to be played in Sydney from January 3, but even before that, Team India has suffered a big blow. Earlier, the news of rift between head coach Gautam Gambhir and Indian players had shaken everyone, whereas now the report has come out that Akashdeep is injured. Due to this issue he may have to miss the Sydney Test.
According to Express Sports, Akashdeep is suffering from back pain and may miss the fifth Test starting from January 3. In his place, Harshit Rana may possibly be given a chance to come back to the playing eleven. The news of this injury has increased the problems of Team India and managing the workload of Jasprit Bumrah will also be a big challenge. Let us remind you that Bumrah had bowled 53.2 overs in both the innings of the recently concluded Melbourne Test.
Team India could have also given a chance to Prasidh Krishna in place of Washington Sundar in the last test, but Sydney Cricket Ground is usually helpful for spin bowling, hence India can go with 2 spinners.
Rishabh Pant may also be out
Rishabh Pant may have to be dropped from the playing eleven as punishment for his poor shot selection in the Melbourne Test. According to reports, head coach Gautam Gambhir was not at all happy with how Pant could play childish shots when the team was in trouble. In his place, the role of wicketkeeping can be played by Dhruv Jurel, who was seen playing in the Perth Test. Jurel could score only 12 runs in both the innings of that match.
