Alexander Lakashenko has sworn in as the President of Belarus for the seventh time. After taking oath of presidency, Alexander Lakashnco made fun of the people calling themselves dictators, especially Western countries. He said, “Belarus has more democracy than those countries, which themselves consider its model.”

Belarus President Alexander Luakshhenko has completed his three decades in power last and called the election held on 26 January a befitting spectacle for his political opponents. At the same time, the Election Commission of Belarus announced that Lakhakhenko has won the election with about 87 percent of the votes. Protests against Lakashenko in 2020
In 2020, when Alexander Lakashnco won the presidential election, about 90 lakh people staged a widespread protest for several months, but it was brutally suppressed. At the same time, the President has put all the leaders of the opposition in jail or they are living in exile abroad.
More than 65 thousand people were arrested after the protest. Police beat thousands of people. Apart from this, independent media outlets and NGOs were also closed and even the ban was imposed.
