In view of the threat from China, Taiwan had a 66 F-16V fighter jet deal, one of which has been delivered by fighter jet. The delivery ceremony was held at the production center of Lockheed Martin in Greenville, South Carolina. Taiwan made a deal for 66 F-16V in 2019 during the first term of President Donald Trump. According to the National Defense Ministry, Taiwan is expected to get all 66 latest F-16 fighter jets from the US by 2026.
Upgradation of 140 fighter jets
After delivery from the US, he will be posted at Taitung Airbase in East Taiwan. Apart from these, Taiwan’s Air Force has upgraded more than 140 F-16A/B fleet in 2023 as F-16V. These jet aircraft are equipped with more advanced avionics, including APG-83 scalable agile beam radar, helmet mounted coating system and other flight management and electronic war systems.

A defense expert said that the F-16A/B which Taiwan has bought from the US and the F-16A/B has upgraded the F-16A/B will give a lot of strength to the Air Force of Taiwan. Researcher of Taiwan’s Thinktank INDSR said that the new fighter jet from the US is equipped with Jet General Electric F110 engine. The afterburns turbofan engine has a 29,000-pound thrust, which is more than 23,000 pounds of engines used in the existing F-16 aircraft of Taiwan. He said that this two -seat aircraft has advanced AESA radar and electronic warfare suit. It comes with a US18E ejection seat. It has a bigger air Intake than Air Intake installed in the current F-16 aircraft of Taiwan.
Jinping threatened Taiwan
China often keeps threatening Taiwan, due to which it has to upgrade its army a lot.
