Court also gave approval
The Supreme Court of America had earlier approved the extradition of India of Tahwwur Rana, convicted of the Mumbai attack on 25 January 2024. The court had dismissed a review petition against his conviction in this case. Significantly, Tehwavur Rana was arrested by FBI in 2009. Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin Rana is wanted in the 2008 Mumbai terror attack case.
According to the charge sheet of the Mumbai attack, Rana was helping David Coleman Headley, the main accused of the attack. He is a member of ISI and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Tehwwur Rana is currently in jail for Los Angeles.
