New York Night Club Shooting: After the heart-wrenching incident in New Orleans, America, another attack has taken place. This time an attacker has shot 11 people in a nightclub in New York. According to amny.com report, the shooting took place at the Amazura nightclub in Queens. On January 1, at around 11:45 pm, firing took place near Amzura Event Hall.
The people injured in the firing have been sent to the local hospital, where they are being treated. After the incident, NYPD unit has gathered near the event hall and is investigating the incident site. According to the report of Citizen App, two suspects involved in the firing are still absconding.
There was commotion after the firing
The Amejura Event Hall is located a few blocks from the Jamaica Long Island Rail Road station. Where at around 11:45 pm, the sound of gunshots started being heard, after which there was a panic. During this time, some people also suffered serious injuries. The New York Police Department (NYPD) immediately reached the spot to handle the situation and SWAT teams were also deployed. They closed the surrounding roads for security reasons. However, officials have not yet identified any suspects.
Police going into the house and searching
A team of New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and other local agencies reached the spot and are helping the victims. Apart from this, the police is searching nearby houses and examining CCTV footage to gather more information about the incident.
Central New Orleans incident
The nightclub incident occurred on the same day that a car plowed into a crowd in central New Orleans on New Year’s Day, killing 15 and injuring more than 30. NBC News reports that police shot and killed the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Deen Jabbar.
