According to sources, MP Ziaurrahman Burke told SIT that he was not aware that the mosque was to be surveyed on February 24, while he had a conversation with Zafar in the night a day earlier and Zafar was aware of the survey. When the MP was questioned on his conversation on November 23, MP Zia could not get the correct answer in it, as the police had asked several questions based on scientific evidence, in which MP Jiaurrahman Burke was seen escaping. Police said that many WhatsApp groups were formed there before the Sambhal violence took place. The police have sought information about the social media group from the MP. SP MP from Ghazipur, Afzal Ansari, has given a provocative statement against the government in support of the actions on the bark.

Samajwadi Party MP Zia ur Rehman Burke’s name was revealed in the incident. The name came to light when Jama Masjid Management Committee Chairman, Zafar Ali, was under police custody. On March 23, Zafar Ali was arrested and sent to Moradabad Jail. Initially, Zafar Ali did not give any information from the police, but as the police increased his inquiry, he made a big disclosure. Zafar Ali said that there was a planned scheme behind the violence, in which an attempt was made to spoil politics and social atmosphere. He took the name of Samajwadi Party MP Zia ur Rehman Burke, and said that at the behest of Burke, he had tried to incite violence near the mosque several times. Zafar admitted that he was asked to make some inflammatory statements by putting pressure by Burke, so that disharmony could be spread among the community.
