
Australia Needs 162 Runs to Win Sydney Test: India’s second innings in the Sydney Test ended on 157 runs. Since Team India had a lead of 4 runs over Australia in the first innings, Australia will have to score 162 runs to win in the fourth innings. On the third day, Indian batsmen were able to score only 16 runs on the scoreboard and lost the last 4 wickets within these 16 runs. The highest score in the innings for India was made by Rishabh Pant, who played a brilliant inning of 61 runs in just 33 balls on the second day.
In this match, India won the toss and chose to bat first, after which it scored 181 runs in the first innings. When Australia’s turn came, it faltered and reached the score of 181, due to which Team India got a lead of only 4 runs in the first innings. The second innings of the Indian team started on the very next day, but the batsmen struggled again. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul gave a fast start to the team and scored 42 runs in the 8th over itself.
Jaiswal scored 22 runs and Rahul scored 13 runs. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill also got away cheaply, but Rishabh Pant’s brilliant innings made a strong comeback for India in the match. Pant scored 61 runs in just 33 balls on the second day and also hit 6 fours and 4 sixes during this innings. By the end of the second day’s play, India had scored 141 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. On the third day, India could add only 16 more runs in its innings. Scott Boland of Australia took a total of 6 wickets in the second innings. He also took 4 wickets in the first innings and this is the first time that he has taken 10 wickets in a match.
