Axar Patel Delhi Capitals Captain IPL 2025: Before the IPL 2025 mega auction, Lucknow Super Giants had released KL Rahul. There were speculations that Rahul could become the captain, but now a report has revealed that Akshar Patel can be given the captaincy of Delhi.
According to news agency ANI, the captaincy of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025 can be handed over to Akshar Patel. Let us tell you that the Delhi team had bought senior players like KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis. Both of them have played for the Delhi team before, yet the franchise can repose confidence in Akshar Patel who has been playing for DC since 2019.
Delhi team owner has also given a hint
Some time ago, Delhi Capitals franchise co-owner Parth Jindal had given a big hint that Axar Patel could be the captain of Delhi in IPL 2025. He said that last season also Akshar was the vice-captain of the Delhi team, whereas now it is completely possible for him to be given the responsibility of captaincy. But he also said that nothing clear can be said about the captain several months before the start of the season.
These days, Akshar Patel’s name is also in the headlines because he was appointed the vice-captain of the Indian team for the upcoming T20 series against England. India-England five-match T20 series will start from January 22.
