He said that on 5 August 2024, when the army officials asked Sheikh Hasina to resign during the coup, Sheikh said that she should shoot me and bury me here in Bangbhavan (President’s residence). These were the last words before resigning from the post of Sheikh Hasina. After this, he took refuge in India.
Mohammad Yunus was made the head of the interim government
