Bangladesh unrest: Muhammad Yunus, who has been handling the reins of the country since last year’s overthrow in Bangladesh, now wants to make the ‘crime horoscope’ of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He said this during a meeting with United Nations Resident Co-ordinator Gin Lewis in Bangladesh and Huma Khan, Senior Human Rights Advisor in his office.
In this meeting held on Sunday (March 2), Muhammad Yunus spoke of documentation of all the atrocities committed during Sheikh Hasina’s rule. This includes police barbarity on protesters and all extra judicial murder on protesters after the verdict against Dilwar Hussain Saeedi, from action against student agitators.
Yunus said, ‘There is a need to give proper documentation of all the atrocities made against the people in the Sheikh Hasina government. Without this, the truth cannot be brought in front of everyone nor justice can be ensured for the victims.
Why does the Yunus government want to make Sheikh Hasina’s crime horoscope?
The condition in Bangladesh has been unstable since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government. There have been reports of the attack on the leaders and workers of Hasina’s party Awami League. Along with this, we are also going on against minorities in Bangladesh. Till now Yunus Administrator has not been able to control the situation in Bangladesh. In such a situation, there are also reports of spreading disgust in the administration from the local people to the administration.
Recently, the victory of Awami League in the election of Bar Association, the army chief’s Yunus administration instructs and some student leaders in some student leaders are examples of the present government. In such a situation, the Yunus administration would like that Awam should not once again go in favor of Hasina. That is why the exercise to make a list of crimes committed in his era is being emphasized.
