James Vince Hits a Seagull in BBL 2024-25: A unique incident was witnessed during an exciting match of the Big Bash League (BBL 2024-25) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This incident happened in the match played between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars. In this match, a powerful shot by batsman James Vince became a topic of discussion. This shot was not a four or a six, rather this shot hit a seagull mango bird, due to which it was badly injured.

This incident happened in the 10th over of the match played on Thursday, January 9, when Melbourne Stars bowler Joel Paris was bowling. James Vince hit a sharp shot towards the front. The ball hit the seagull sitting near the boundary and went beyond the boundary. This shot gave four runs, but Vince and the audience’s attention went towards the injured Seagull.

Immediately after the incident, the security officers present on the ground ran to pick up the injured bird. The seagull was flapping its wings, but could not fly. Seeing this scene, players and spectators became emotional.

James Vince’s half century went in vain
England’s experienced batsman James Vince played a brilliant inning of 53 runs in 44 balls in this match. He took over the innings of Sydney Sixers when opening batsman Joshua Phillip was out cheaply. Vince completed his half-century by staying at one end till the 14th over. However, in the same over he was caught out by Marcus Stoinis.
Sydney Sixers had a target of 157 runs in 20 overs. After Vince’s dismissal, batsmen like Moises Henriques, Jordan Silk and Jack Edwards tried hard but the team lost by 16 runs.
