BCCI and ECB came and said, NOC will not give players
According to the report of the British newspaper ‘The Guardian’, the Cricket Board of India and England has taken a tough stand against the proposed T20 League of Saudi Arabia. During the World Test Championship final played at Lord’s, there was a talk between the BCCI and the top officials of the ECB on the issue, after which it was decided that both the boards would not support the new league.
Both boards have also decided that they will not send their players to play in this league. The board will not approve this to the players. That is, NOC (No Objection Certificate) will not be released by the board. Apart from this, BCCI and ECB will also put pressure on the ICC not to give any official recognition to this league.
Australia in support of league
While India and England are opposing this T20 league, the decision of Cricket Australia (CA) is completely different from this. According to the report, Australia is ready to participate with Saudi investors in this league. This is an opportunity for Australia to bring private investment in its cricket format, because the Big Bash League (BBL) has the right of governing body and state associations.
400 million dollars and Grand Slam -like format
This Saudi Arabia’s proposed T20 League can be started by Sports Investments as SRJ is ready to invest about Rs 3442 crore in this league $ 400 million i.e. about Rs 3442 crore according to Indian rupees. There will be 8 teams in this league which will play four tournaments every year by visiting different grounds. This league will be in the same way as the Grand Slam of tennis is played.
This kind of different format and all the money together can become a big threat to the existing leagues. This is the reason that BCCI and ECB have already started making strategies against it.
