BCCI New Secretary: Jay Shah was elected the new chairman of ICC. He assumed office in December 2024. After Jay Shah’s departure, his place became vacant in the Board of Control for Cricket in India. After Jay Shah goes to ICC, Devjit Saikia may get the responsibility of the post of secretary. According to a report, he is leading in this race. Saikia is currently holding the post of interim secretary. Whereas Prabhtej Singh Bhatia can be elected treasurer.
Actually, after the departure of Jai Shah, Saikia was elected interim secretary. He has been a first class cricketer. Saikia comes from Assam. He has played for Assam in CK Nayudu Trophy. Along with this, Sourav has also been a part of Ganguly’s team. Ganguly and Saikia have played for East Zone. He made his debut in Ranji Trophy in 1991. Now Saikia is on the board. He has also been elected Joint Secretary of BCCI in 2019.
Along with Saikia, Anil Patel’s name from Gujarat has also been in discussion for the post of BCCI Secretary. Rohan Jaitley’s name is also included in this list. But Rohan is on the post of DDCA President. Therefore he will not take entry in BCCI. If we talk about the post of Treasurer, then Prabhtej Singh Bhatia may get the responsibility. He is part of Chhattisgarh Cricket Association.
