Gautam Gambhir Support Staff: A few days ago, a meeting was held between Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar in the presence of some BCCI officials. According to a media report, in this meeting, consideration was given to giving a new batting coach to the Indian team. Apart from the head coach, Team India currently has two assistant coaches in the form of Abhishek Nair and Ryan ten Deutsche. Morne Morkel remains the bowling coach, but the team does not have a batting coach.
According to a report by Cricbuzz, after the discussion between the BCCI official and the team management, a batting coach can be appointed to strengthen the batting of Team India. This decision can be taken at a time when many players including senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are struggling with poor form. According to the report, many names have been considered for this post, but till now no name has been approved.
Recently it was revealed that BCCI is keeping a close eye on Abhishek Nair and Ryan ten Deutsche after India’s 1-3 defeat to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It was told that especially Abhishek Nair could be blamed and according to the report, the players have been asked how much contribution has Nair made to the team? Similarly, strict action is possible to be taken against Ryan also. Due to his experience in international cricket, questions are being raised on his ability that how can he be helpful in improving the performance of international players despite less experience? Let us tell you that Ryan played for Netherlands and played only 57 matches in his international career.
