Bcci new rules for champions trophy 2025: Last month, the theme of new guidelines released by BCCI was gaining momentum. When in a press conference, captain Rohit Sharma was asked about this, he said that BCCI has not confirmed any new rules. In the same conference, Rohit was seen saying to Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar that he would have to talk to the BCCI officials regarding the new rules. Rohit did not confirm the new rules then, but now a new report has revealed that BCCI has given new rules to all Indian players playing Champions Trophy.
According to a report published in Cricbuzz, BCCI has given the list of new rules to the players regarding traveling and taking the family along. The BCCI says that the new rules have been implemented to increase the sense of unity and create a positive environment within the team. During the third ODI played against England in Ahmedabad recently, it was made clear to the players that no agreement for the new rules would be acceptable.
Manager gets strict orders
The new rules have been implemented with immediate effect. R. Devraj, Secretary, Hyderabad Cricket Association, will be the manager of the Indian team for the Champions Trophy, which runs till 19 February-9 March. Devraj has been given strict orders that the rules should be followed in any case. A source in BCCI quoted cricbing, “There will be no compromise in the rules and the players have been warned that BCCI’s attitude is very serious about the new rules.”
There is no freedom to take players with personal staff
The most talked about rule in BCCI’s new guidelines is that no player will be able to take personal staff with him. With the implementation of this rule, now a player has also set a limit on taking his personal cook, Naini (midwife), hairstylist and especially family members. If the Indian team is going on 45 or more days of foreign tour, the players will be able to spend time with the family only once. Since the Champions Trophy tournament will run for four weeks, the players will not be able to spend time with their family here.
