
Rajiv Shukla on Rohit Sharma, Gambhir and Agarkar Rift: After losing the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, many reports of dispute within Team India came to light. It was being said that there is a dispute going on between Team India captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The talk had even reached whether Rohit would captain the team in the Champions Trophy 2025 or not. Now there has been clarification in this matter. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla has completely rejected the reports of dispute between the three. Rajeev Shukla clarified that these things are just rumors and everything is fine within the team.
Shukla called the news of controversy false
Rajiv Shukla termed the reports of controversy as “completely false” and said that there is no difference of opinion between Rohit Sharma, Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar. Supporting senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he said that it is natural to be out of form in the game.
He said, “There is no dispute between the coach, selector and captain. Such things are completely wrong.”
Questions were also raised on team selection
It was also said in many reports that there was no agreement between Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir regarding team selection. Some reports also claimed that Gambhir did not talk to the selectors. However, after the review meeting held on January 11, all these differences were resolved.
All senior officers attended the review meeting
A review meeting was held on Saturday to assess the performance of Team India. Captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar attended this meeting. The objective of the meeting was not only to review the recent performance of the team but also to discuss future strategies.
