Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is a major public sector oil company in India. It was established on 24 January 1976.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has earned a total of Rs 1,27,658 crore in the fourth quarter of FY 2024-25. This is half (3.69%) lower than last year. The company earned Rs 1,32,554 crore in the same quarter of last year.
Out of the total earnings, the cost of salary, tax, raw materials like the cost, then the company survives as a standalone net profit of Rs 3,214 crore. This is 24% less than the January-March quarter of 2024. Last year, the company made a profit of Rs 4,224 crore.
Revenue declined 4% to ₹ 1.27 lakh crore
In the fourth quarter, Bharat Petroleum generated a revenue of Rs 1,26,865 crore by selling its operation and product-services. It has decreased by 4% on an annual basis. In January-March 2024, the company generated a revenue of Rs 1,32,057 crore.
What for investors in quarterly results?
With the results in the fourth quarter, Bharat Petroleum has announced a dividend of Rs 5 per share to each of its shareholders. Companies also give some part of their profits to their shareholders, called dividends.
The company’s result is better than the expectation of market analysts. Analysts estimated that the profits could be reduced to Rs 2,600 crore, but it was 3214 crores.
Crude oil prices in the global market are at a 4 -year low. But oil companies are not lowering prices. There is no expectation to cut prices even further.

Before the results, India Petroleum shares rose by 0.32%, it closed at Rs 311. In the last 5 days, the company’s stock has climbed 1.80%, 9.28% in a month and 5.32% from this year i.e. January 1. However, the return has been flat in the last 6 months and a year.
