Bird flu in pets : A case of avian influenza virus (H5N1) i.e. bird flu has come to light in domestic cats in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. This is the first such case in India. Since the H5N1 is a disease caused by the influenza virus, which is more for birds and animals, but due to its found in cats, the risk of spreading in humans can also increase.
Experts say that bird flu can be done not only in chicken or cat but also in many other animals living in our homes. In such a situation, everyone should be careful about rescue.
Symptoms of H5N1 bird flu in humans

1. We raise many birds in the house, which can lead to bird flu. These include birds like chickens, ducks.
2. The most dogs are raised in the house, who sit and sleep at some places. If they come in contact with other birds and animals, then they can also have bird flu.
3. The cat can have bird flu, as was seen in Chhindwara.
4. Pigs live outside the house, but in many places it is also reared, they can also have bird flu.
How to save yourself pets at home
1. If there are birds in your house, keep them separate and avoid coming in contact with them.
2. If there are animals in the house, then get them vaccinated and keep them regularly checking them.
3. Keep cleanliness in and around the house.
4. If you go to birds or animals, apply masks.
5. Wash your hands regularly with water and soap, especially when touching the pets.
