1. Sanjay Malhotra will be the new Governor of RBI: Will take charge on December 11, replacing Shaktikanta Das, who has been governor for 6 years.
The government has appointed Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra as the new Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). He will be the 26th Governor of RBI and will replace the current Governor Shaktikanta Das.
Das’s term ends on December 10, 2024. Malhotra will take over as Governor from December 11. The Cabinet has today approved the appointment of Sanjay Malhotra on 9th December.

2. Problem in IRCTC website, new account will not be created for 24 hours: Password will also not be changed; remained closed for about 2 hours in the morning
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has said that from 4 pm on Monday till 4 pm tomorrow i.e. on December 10, new registration, change in login password and update of profile password will not be possible.
IRCTC has attributed this to maintenance. Earlier, due to technical problems, the website remained down from around 10 am to 12 noon on Monday (December 9). During this time, downtime message was visible on the website.

3. CCI reaches Supreme Court against Amazon-Flipkart: Commission appeals to stop efforts to delay investigation, accuses companies of violating antitrust laws
Competition Commission of India i.e. CCI has asked the Supreme Court to hear legal challenges to investigate e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart. CCI said that Samsung, Vivo and other companies are presenting challenges in different courts with the aim of stopping the High Court investigation.
CCI had filed a filing in the court on December 3, which was not made public. The Competition Commission of India requested the court to hear 23 complaints of vendors against Samsung, Vivo, Amazon and Flipkart, so that the matter can be decided as soon as possible.

5. 1.8 crore vehicles were sold in the country between April-November: In November, Maruti sold the maximum 1.28 lakh cars, Hero on top with 9.15 lakh sales in two-wheelers.
In the current financial year i.e. between April and November, 1.8 crore vehicles have been sold across the country. There has been an increase of 11% on annual basis. In this, 1.33 crore vehicles were sold in the two-wheeler segment alone. It was 14% more than the same period last year.
At the same time, in November 2024, vehicle sales in the country were more than 32 lakh. There has been a growth of 11.21% as compared to November last year. During this period, more than 26 lakh vehicles were sold in the two-wheeler category, which is 15.80% more than in November 2023.
