2. RBI made Ajit Ratnakar a new executive director: He has more than three decades experience, Joshi has done PHD in Monetary Economics from IIT Madras to PHD
The Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI has announced to appoint Dr. Ajit Ratnakar Joshi as the new executive director on Wednesday (March 5). His term is effective since 3 March 2025.
Prior to this promotion, Joshi has worked as Principal Advisor in the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM). Joshi will be overseeing the Department of Statistics and Information Management as well as the Financial Stability Department as Executive Director.

3. 1611 crore UPI transactions in February: This transferred a total amount of ₹ 21.96 lakh crore, 33% transactions increased on annual basis
In February 2025, 1611 crore transactions took place through Unified Payment Interface (UPI). During this period, a total amount of Rs 21.96 lakh crore was transferred during this period. The number of transactions has increased by 33% on an annual basis.
At the same time, the transfer of the transfer through it has increased by 20%. A year ago, in February 2024, a transaction of Rs 18.28 lakh crore was done through 1210 crore transactions. At the same time, till March 3 this month, about 39 lakh UPI transactions took place, through which an amount of Rs 1050 crore was transferred.
