India Squad Champions Trophy 2025: The Champions Trophy is slowly getting closer. The tournament will start from 19th February. But Team India has not been announced yet by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Now BCCI seems completely ready to announce Team India. Team India will be announced for the Champions Trophy tomorrow i.e. on Saturday (January 18).
Before the Champions Trophy, Team India also has to play a white ball series against England, in which 5 T20s and 3 ODIs will be played. The T20 series will start from January 22, for which Team India has been announced, but the ODI series is yet to be announced. Team India will be announced simultaneously for the ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy.
There will be a press conference after the selection meeting. This conference will take place at around 12:30 in the afternoon. Indian captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will participate in this conference.
Champions Trophy will be played in February-March
Let us tell you that the Champions Trophy 2025 will start from 19th February, while the final match of the tournament will be held on 09th March. The Champions Trophy will be hosted by Pakistan. However, Team India will play all its matches in Dubai. For the tournament, 8 teams have been divided into 2 groups, which include Group-A and Group-B. Team India has been placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. Team India will play its first match against Bangladesh on 20 February.
India won the Champions Trophy title in 2013
It is noteworthy that Team India won the Champions Trophy title in 2013 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. After this, in the Champions Trophy played in 2017, Team India had to face defeat against England in the final. Now it will be interesting to see how Team India performs in the tournament this time.
