Champions trophy stadiums renovation: Before the commencement of the Champions Trophy 2025, there are constant questions on Pakistan. As the date of starting the tournament (February 19) is coming near, different pictures of the preparations for the grounds have been revealed. If the system of sitting somewhere in the grounds of Ravapindi, Karachi and Lahore has not been completed, then the construction work is still going on. Now a new update has come out regarding the preparation of the grounds.
A source quoted by news agency PTI has said that the grounds will be handed over to the ICC for branding and other works by February 11. Remind you that the ICC set the last date 31 January to hand over the grounds. But PTI’s report is telling something else that Pakistan is going to miss the cricket board deadline. The source also said that the work of giving finishing touch to the ground has started, but now some places in the ground are stoned due to construction work which will be removed soon.
A famous media institute of Pakistan ‘The Dawn’ recently issued a report claiming that it seems impossible to complete the construction of the grounds within the deadline. Nevertheless, PCB officials have repeatedly said that the grounds must have been prepared before the Champions Trophy tournament. Everyone’s eyes are also fixed on the construction work of Karachi Maidan as the first match of the tournament is to be played on this ground on 19 February. The first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand.
Let us also say that PCB has spent 1,200 crore Pakistani rupees in renewal of the plains of Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore. This amount is equal to about Rs 373 crore in Indian currency. The sale of tickets has started, but till now there is no idea of complete preparations for the grounds.
