Delhi Elections: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday termed as “lie” Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s claim that her official residence has been snatched away. The BJP said the allotment of the house at 6, Flagstaff Road was canceled due to two “key reasons”, including non-taking of possession within the required time frame. Earlier, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had alleged that the BJP-led central government had snatched away the Chief Minister’s official residence by canceling its allotment.
Chief Minister Atishi said in a joint press conference with senior AAP leaders here, “Official residence does not matter to me. If needed, I will work for the people of Delhi even from the streets.
“When they took away my government residence, I had promised to give Rs 2,100 to the women,” he said. I will provide free health care to my elders.
Countering Atishi’s claim, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya said, “No one will believe his lies.”

Malviya said in a post on social media platform Secondly, he never entered Sheesh Mahal, which was allotted to him on 11 October 2024.
Atishi already has an official residence at 17 AB Mathura Road, and he has also been offered two other luxurious bungalows, he said.
Malviya said that two main reasons have emerged for withdrawing the allotment of ‘Sheesh Mahal’. “First, failure in griha pravesh: As per rules, he was supposed to take possession of the house within a week of allotment, but even after three months had passed, he did not do so,” he said.
Malviya said, “The second reason is the CBI/ED investigation. Sheesh Mahal is under investigation by the CBI and ED, and the CAG report has confirmed corruption in its construction. The condition of allotment of the house was that Atishi would cooperate with the investigating agencies. But they deliberately did not take possession of the house, so that the house remained closed and the work of the investigating agencies was disrupted.
“No one is going to believe his lies,” he said.
