China-US Relation: China has blacklisted 10 American companies for selling arms to Taiwan. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC) gave this information on Thursday (January 2, 2025). According to the ministry’s announcement, these companies include Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and Lockheed Martin Missile System Integration Lab.
Work permit, residency status will also be cancelled.
MOC said that these companies will be banned from engaging in China-related import or export activities and will also be prevented from making new investments in China. According to the announcement, senior executives of these companies will be banned from entering China. “Their work permits and visitor or residency statuses will be canceled and any related applications submitted on their behalf will not be approved,” China said.

According to Xinhua news agency, the MOC said that despite China’s strong opposition, these companies have been engaged in arms sales in the Taiwan region in recent years and are so-called cooperating on military technology. The ministry said that their actions have seriously undermined China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Also, there has been a serious violation of the One-China principle and three China-US joint communiqués. Apart from this, peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait has been seriously weakened.

The statement also said that these companies will be held legally accountable. The ministry said the Chinese government will always welcome foreign companies to invest and expand their businesses in China and is committed to providing a stable, fair and predictable business environment for law-abiding companies in China.
