Chinese scientists have detected viruses such as corona spreading from animals to humans. Its name is HKU5-Cov-2.
The virus also found a human receptor like Sars-Cov-2, a virus responsible for Covid-19.
According to South China Morning Post, Xi Zhengli has led the team studying the virus.
The team consisted of scientists from Guangzhou Laboratory, Guangzo Science Academy, Wuhan University and Wuhan Institute of Virology. The study is published in the Peer-Review Journal Sale on 18 February.
Research found that the new virus infects human cells just like corona virus. This shows an effect on not only bats but also many animals including humans.
The study has revealed that the risk of spreading this new virus to humans is very high. However, its ability to join humans is less than the corona virus.
In view of the possible threat, scientists have focused their focus on further monitoring needs.
