Amit Shah PC: Amidst the controversy over Ambedkar, Home Minister Amit Shah held a press conference on Wednesday in which he accused Congress of distorting his statement. During this, he said that Congress is trying its old method and is misrepresenting his statement since yesterday.
Amit Shah angrily said that the way Congress has tried to distort facts since yesterday is highly condemnable. I strongly condemn this. Congress itself is anti-Ambedkar and anti-constitutional party. By imposing emergency, Congress flouted all the values of the Constitution. Always insulted the judiciary. When their entire truth was exposed, Congress once again tried its old method of distorting things and presenting the truth by dressing it in lies.
‘Congress tried with all its might to make Baba Saheb…’
He further said, ‘When the discussion was going on in Parliament, it was proved how Congress opposed Baba Saheb Ambedkar. How Congress tried to make fun of Baba Saheb even after his death. As far as the question of giving Bharat Ratna to Baba Saheb is concerned. Congress leaders themselves have given themselves Bharat Ratna many times. In 1955, Nehru ji and in 1971 Indira Gandhi gave herself Bharat Ratna. Baba Saheb received Bharat Ratna in 1990 when the Congress party was no longer in power and the government was supported by BJP. Congress kept trying with all its might to ensure that Baba Saheb did not get Bharat Ratna. Nehru’s hatred towards Ambedkar is well known.
Kharge demanded dismissal of Shah
Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused Amit Shah of insulting Constitution maker Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. He demanded that instead of defending him, Prime Minister Modi should dismiss him from the cabinet by 12 midnight tonight.
He said that the comments made by Amit Shah on Ambedkar are condemnable. It is unfortunate for the country that such remarks have been made about a Dalit hero who is revered by all. Apart from this, he also claimed that the matter of heaven and hell is a matter of Manu Smriti and these people do not believe in the Constitution. Taking a jibe at Shah, Kharge also said that it is not Amit Shah’s fault because this is what is taught in the school where he studied.
Amit Shah was replying during the discussion on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, 17 December. During this time, he showed the mirror to Congress and revealed his views towards Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Shah had said – ‘It has become a fashion now – Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar… If you had taken so many names of God, you would have gone to heaven for 7 births.’ However, now the statement has been made an issue by taking just a 14 second video of his speech.
