Israel Hamas War: Amidst the 42-day ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, the Israeli Army has once again accused Hamas. After a video of senior Hamas commander Hussein Fayyad surfaced, Israel has alleged that Hamas is reorganizing itself by taking advantage of the ceasefire in Gaza. Regarding Fayyad, Israel had said that he was killed but now the army claims that he is alive.

Fayyad is associated with Hamas’s Beit Hanoun battalion and is accused of anti-tank missile and rocket attacks against Israel. Israel had claimed that Fayyad was killed in an operation, but now with his reappearance the question is being raised whether Israel’s objective of eliminating Hamas has failed.

Fayyad said in the video that Hamas has won this war. Experts say their withdrawal reflects Hamas’s strength and ability to maintain its influence in Gaza, no matter how much military pressure it faces.

Terms of ceasefire?

The agreement between Israel and Hamas includes the phased release of hostages by Hamas, the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in Israel and allowing thousands of people displaced in Gaza to return. Under the agreement, much needed humanitarian aid will also be delivered to the Gaza area.

Hamas’s condition is that in the first phase of the ceasefire deal, the Israeli army will move 700 meters back from the Gaza border into its territory. In the first phase of the ceasefire deal, Hamas can release 33 hostages, including 5 women. On the other hand, Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners in return. After 15 days, Hamas will release the remaining hostages.
