
Delhi Elections: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Seelampur on January 13 for the Delhi Assembly elections. The party gave this information on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference organized at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee office, All India Congress Committee’s Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin said that Gandhi has emerged as the voice of the people of the country. He said that wherever there is an issue, Gandhi reaches there and raises the voice of the people.
Nizamuddin said, “Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting in the name ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Constitution’ in Seelampur area of North-East Delhi at 5:30 pm on Monday. A large number of people, Congress party workers and leaders will participate in it.
Rahul’s first rally in Delhi Assembly elections
This will be Gandhi’s first rally in this assembly elections in Delhi. Nizamuddin said the Congress is in a strong position in Delhi after Gandhi’s constant connect with people of all sections in the national capital and state Congress chief Devendra Yadav’s highly successful month-long ‘Delhi Nyay Yatra’, in which lakhs of Delhi residents participated. Participated and pledged to support Congress in the Delhi Assembly elections. He said that during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ from Kanyakumari to Srinagar, Gandhi had interacted with people from all sections of society, which had given him a deep insight into the struggles, sufferings and troubles of the daily lives of the common people.
Congress had taken out ‘Delhi Nyay Yatra’ in November to connect with voters and boost the morale of party workers before the assembly elections. The yatra was organized on the lines of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and ‘Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra’ and ended on December 7.
Voting for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on February 5. Counting of votes will take place on February 8. Congress could not win a single seat in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections.
