Harshvardhan Rane recently revised that he turned down an opportunity to debut in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2013 Blockbuster, ‘Goliyon ki rasleela ram-leelaThe actor was offered the role of Deepika Padukone’s Brother, a character with negative shades, which he declined to avoid being done type.
According to Ott Play, Rane Shared that Being Approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was a career highlight. However, he declined the offer as he wanted to avoid being typecast in negative roles. He aimed to break the norm, even thought it meant missing out on significant options.
Despite the film’s success, Rane harbors no regrets about his choice. He expressed his admiration for bhansali and his desire to collaborate in the future, saying that he has no regrets and also it’s any actor’s dream to be part of sanjay lela bhansali’s film. He Said, “I would love to work with him. I hope something for me in his next film.”
Rane Eventually made his Bollywood debut in 2016 with ‘Sanam teri kasam‘, a romantic drama where he portrayed the lead role of inder, Opposite Pakistani Actress Mawra Hocane. The film, Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Received Mixed Reviews Upon Its Its Initial Release but have Garnered a Cult Following Over the Years.
Interestingly, ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ was re-rested in theaters recently and has been performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film has earned double its original lifetime run already, indicating its enduring appeal among audiences.
In light of the film’s renewed success, Directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru have recently confirmed that a sequel is in the work. They revised that script for ‘Sanam teri kasam 2‘Has been finalized, and they have a clear vision for the continuation of inder’s story.
