Due to the heat, many animals and birds are facing various diseases. The incidence of animals getting sick due to strong sunlight has increased and most problems like dehydration, gastro, loss of appetite are occurring. How to take care of your animals with all these diseases? Anant Sakhare, District Veterinary Assistant Commissioner of Nashik, has given information about this.
Increase in heatstroke cases
In March this year, we have started feeling the heat. As the effect of this heat is on humans, the more animals are also happening. Cow, buffalo, goat, sheep, dogs, cats and poultry are all having a lot of heat and the cases of heatstroke are coming to the animal hospital.
How to take care of goats and sheep
Talking to Local 18, Dr. Anant Sakhare said that if goats and sheep stay in the sun for a long time, then their body temperature increases. This can cause them abortion. So do not take your goats and sheep out in the strong sunlight. Also provide them clean and pure water.
How to take care of big animals
It is very important to maintain the right temperature in cow, buffalo and bull enclosure in big animals. It is better to open animals like cow and buffalo. Do not keep the animals tied and let them roam freely in the enclosure. Give them a protein containing sufficient amount of water and vitamin C, so that they can control their body temperature themselves. In summer, the amount of acetic acid in large animals increases, causing them to have indigestion. Therefore, give them a little food soda in the morning and evening and the doctor has advised to feed cold fodder. The result of this is that the production of milk increases.

Dogs and cats become more ill due to heat in summer. Dogs and cats of many breeds have more hair on their body and in summer their body temperature keeps falling to control. Therefore, if these hair is cut in summer then it will be better.
