Donald Trump Brics Countries Trade Tariff: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has reacted to US President Donald Trump’s threat of tariffs against BRICS countries. He said that the claims of the US President are beyond the truth and the BRICS countries have no plans to trade in any other currency other than the US dollar. The Congress leader said that BRICS has no serious proposal to bring an alternative currency as an alternative to dollar and he has described the dollar as practical facility for most countries of the world.
On Trump’s threat to put tariff on BRICS countries, Shashi Tharoor said, “I have heard this comment from President Trump, but, the fact is that there is no serious offer for the BRICS to come up with an alternative currency for the dollar. . Dollar is a practical feature for most of the countries of the world and we have certainly discussed Rupee-Rupee Business with Russia and some similar examples It is not impossible for an alternative international currency, even then I do not think that a special plan has been made to do this, and therefore, the President’s threats seem a bit hollow. It is when a real proposal comes out and the countries like India should take any support in the Indian government for such a proposal, so why should we worry.
