US President Donald Trump has canceled former President Joe Biden’s security clearance (access to intelligence). Trump posted on social media and said that there is no need to reach Biden’s access to confidential information.
Trump said-
We are canceling Biden’s security clearance with immediate effect and stopping them daily intelligence briefing.
After becoming President in 2021, Biden also did the same with Trump. Trump claimed that the Justice Department report revealed that Biden’s memory was bad. In such a situation, they cannot be trusted about sensitive information. Trump wrote- I will always protect our national security.
The Hur Report came in February 2024. It said that Biden had forgotten many important incidents during the year of his son’s death and Barack Obama during his era. However, Biden then dismissed the report.

Biden also canceled Trump’s security clearance Trump wrote- Biden set an example in 2021. He then canceled the intelligence community (Intelligence Community) security clearance of the US 45th President (Trump). Whereas it is a courtesy given to former presidents.
This was the first time that the security clearance of a former president was stopped. Biden then said that such a step was taken due to Trump’s behavior. They cannot be trusted.
Biden said-
There is no point in giving security clearance to Trump. They have no existence anymore, except that they can create difficulties.
What does it mean to get security clearance? American presidents do not need security clearance and have anxis of intelligence based on their post. Former presidents have been traditionally received intelligence briefing, although its reach depends on the current President’s decision.
Through security clearance, the former President can understand what is happening in the world, especially intelligence related to countries that are associated with American interests. They also help them understand which threats can occur in the world.
Trump stopped clearance of more than 50 officers Trump has already canceled the security approval of more than 50 former intelligence officials. All of them were accused of interfering in the 2020 election in favor of Biden.
Dr. Fauchi has worked with seven American presidents from Ronald Reagan to Joe Biden.
Those whose security clearances have been taken away include former top American military commander Mark Mile. He is an outspoken critic of Trump. US new Defense Minister Pete Hegseth has ordered to investigate the ‘behavior’ of Mark Mile.
Trump has canceled the security clearance of former President’s Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauchi, former Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo, former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
