According to media reports, the US President said, "I believe Greenland, we will find, this is actually an issue related to the freedom of the world. It has nothing to do with the United States, except that we can provide freedom."
Trump’s comment came after a phone call conversation with Denmark’s Prime Minister Mete Fredericksen.
During the conversation, Trump allegedly made economic threats on Denmark exports to pressurize Greenland to leave control.
According to the report, five European officials described this call as ‘aggressive’ and ‘potentially very dangerous’. However, Denmark rejected Trump’s idea firmly. The Prime Minister’s Office of Denmark said that he does not recognize the interpretation of the conversation given by unknown sources. ‘
