Tejashwi Yadav on ONOE: Former Deputy CM of Bihar and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, opposed the ‘One Nation, One Election’ bill, calling it an attack on the constitutional structure. Along with this, he termed ‘one country one election’ as the agenda of RSS.
Taking a big step towards electoral reforms, the Central Government today introduced the ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bill in the Lok Sabha. The government claims that this will reduce election expenses and increase administrative efficiency. However, the opposition strongly opposed it. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav made a sharp attack on BJP’s claim of saving expenses and said that PM Modi’s advertisements cost more than this.
‘Government wants to implement RSS agenda’
Tejashwi Yadav says, ‘This is an attack on the constitutional structure. Modi government wants to implement the agenda of RSS in the entire country. That’s why we say that these people are anti-constitutional. Now they are saying ‘One Nation, One Election’. Next we will say ‘One Nation One Party’ and then we will say ‘One Nation, One Leader’.
Tejashwi’s attack on BJP’s claim
On BJP’s claim of saving expenses, he said, ‘These people do not talk on real issues. Expenses will be saved… How much does PM Modi spend in advertising? More money is spent on advertising than on elections. Tell us how much has been spent on advertising so far in 11 years. One who cannot conduct elections in 4-5 states simultaneously… cannot conduct elections in Bihar in one phase, what can be expected from him that One Nation will conduct one election.
