Farokh Engineer Angry on ECB: The five-match Test series is going on between India and England. India is behind 1-0 in this series. This Test series between India and England was earlier called the Pataudi Trophy, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England Cricket Board (ECB) changed the name of the series to Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. But an Indian veteran is very angry with the change of this name and he has also expressed displeasure over the ECB.
Indian veteran raised questions
Former India wicketkeeper Farooq Engineer has expressed displeasure over the decision of England and Wales Cricket Board. Farooq Engineer, veteran player Mansoor Ali Khan is close to Pataudi and the ECB’s decision is disappointing that the name of the Pataudi Trophy has been changed to Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy.
Legendary player Sachin Tendulkar also raised questions about changing the name of India-England series. After this, the board said about giving Pataudi medal to the captain who won the series. Farrukh Engineer is not happy with this. They believe that the Pataudi medal is being given to the winning captain only to please Mansoor Ali Khan’s supporters.
Farrukh Engineer disappointed
Farrukh Engineer while talking to PTI said that Tiger Pataudi was my good friend. We have played a lot of Test cricket together. He had a great legacy and came from a very great family. I was very happy when this trophy was named her in 2007.
Farooq Engineer further said that now on the other hand, today I am very disappointed when the name Pataudi has been removed from this trophy. I wanted Tiger’s name to be on it, but the board has named Sachin and Anderson, who is also a legendary player.
