India’s Finance Ministry has asked its employee to avoid using AI tools such as chat GGPT and Deepcik for any office work. The government believes that such AI tools are a threat to government documents and privacy of data.
This information has been received from the Internal Department Advisory. Countries like Australia and Italy have also banned the use of DeepC, citing data security risk.
Advisory report surfaced on social media
The report of this advisory has surfaced on social media on Tuesday. Meanwhile, OpenAI Chief Sam Altman is going to visit India on Wednesday, where he will also meet the IT minister.
The ministry’s advisory issued on January 29 states, “It has been decided that AI tools and AI apps (eg chat GPT, Deepcic) are threatened in government data and secrecy of government data and documents in office computers and devices.”
No response to the ministry on the case so far
However, no response has been revealed from India’s Finance Ministry, ChatjiPT-Parent OpenAI and Dipcist representatives on the matter so far. Three Finance Ministry officials said that the note was correct and an international was issued this week.
