Akash Chopra Reaction India Squad For England T20 Series: Questions were being raised on the performance of the Indian cricket team and coach Gautam Gambhar. Now the entire selection committee itself has come under the scanner. In fact, former cricketer Aakash Chopra has raised questions as to why Shivam Dubey was not selected in the T20 series against England? Dubey, who was a part of India’s T20 World Cup winning team last year, has been able to play only one match so far under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. He is constantly being kept out of the team.
Reflecting on the squad selected for the T20 series against England, Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel said, “What happened to Shivam Dubey? I also want to talk about Ruturaj Gaikwad, but he has not got a place in the team There are many players in the race, but I only want to express my opinion on Shivam Dubey.
Remind that last year in the final of T20 World Cup 2024, Shivam Dubey had played an inning of 27 runs in 16 balls at a very important moment against South Africa. Referring to the same, Aakash Chopra said, “When you win, the entire team should be praised. Shivam had shown a good game in the final also. Before that there were questions about his batting and fielding but on the most important occasion he did well.” We played well and we could become T20 World Champions.”
These days it seems as if the Indian team management is preparing Nitish Kumar Reddy as Hardik Pandya’s partner and future replacement. Nevertheless, Aakash Chopra believes that Dubey should have been given some more time to prove himself. In his T20 career, Dubey scored 448 runs for India in 33 matches at an average of 30 and also took 11 wickets in bowling.
