
Himachal Pradesh: The factionalism within the Congress in Himachal Pradesh is overshadowing the party. Especially in the presence of Pratibha Singh in Bilaspur, the Bharatiya Janata Party has also got a chance to surround the Congress after a sharp knock between Congress workers. After the quarrel within the ruling party, BJP is demanding the resignation of both Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Himachal Congress President Pratibha Singh.
Addressing the press conference in Shimla, BJP MLA and state spokesperson Randhir Sharma said, ‘Factionalism has reached a boil within the Himachal Pradesh Congress. During the ‘Save the Constitution’ program in Bilaspur, party workers openly questioned the functioning of the government and the Congress party in front of their president Pratibha Singh. The BJP spokesperson said that not only people are unhappy with the Congress government, but Congress party workers have also lost their trust in their leadership.
Randhir Sharma accused Himachal government
Randhir Sharma alleged that the activists expressed serious concern about lack of funds for development works. BJP leader said, “He (Congress workers) said that there is no money to pay the bills of infrastructure or even contractors, but there is no shortage of funds in the case of appointment of OSD and advisors close to the Chief Minister.” According to Randhir Sharma, Pratibha Singh also admitted that her complaints were unresolved. The BJP leader said, ‘If his voice is not heard, then why is he clinging to his post? They should resign for the dignity of the post.
Demand for resignation from Chief Minister Sukhu
The BJP leader also alleged that Chief Minister Sukhu is spending public money for the renewal of ministers’ offices and his secretariat, but there is a shortage of funds for public welfare schemes like snowcare. Randhir Sharma said, “It is shameful that the government has money for the comforts of the elite, but not for the health and welfare of the common people.” He further said that every class, minister, party workers, MLAs and general public of society are dissatisfied with this government. In such a situation, the Chief Minister should resign in the interest of the people of the state.
